This is one Chinese policy that I feel the west could benefit greatly from adopting. Not the death penalty necessarily, but permanently life-changing consequences, surely.

Sounds like banning this might not be such a bad thing? Stricter regulation and severe penalties for violators would maybe help instead, but I don’t know enough about Chinese culture to really be able to comment on whether that would even be effective. At least taking steps to make sure this doesn’t continue is a net benefit, I think.

I’d be interested to hear how many of those strips searches of children have actually yielded anything. If that number is zero, or close to zero, then what’s the justification for it to continue?
