DevOps is bad because for some reason we’ve decided to invent new programming languages that you can’t debug locally and so you have to keep pushing commits to the pipeline server. It’s bullshit.

Because then I can run them locally quickly and test individual components of them instead of “edit, commit, push, wait 10 minutes, read error message, repeat”.

JS is the one that’s built into the browser. If JS wasn’t built into the browser, it would go onto the trashbin of bad old languages that only survived because of their platform like VBA and ActionScript and .bat batch scripting. You can’t compare JS to any other language because JS is the one you don’t get a choice on.

The fact that this meme makes sense to anyone demonstrates how dynamic typed programming languages cause brain damage.

Oh, I don’t doubt the Israelis are killing a crapload of children. I just would rather see the exact numbers from a more neutral party.

Does the UN or some other more neutral org have numbers? I mean, the Gaza Ministry of Health kinda has incentive to exaggerate civilian casualties, just like the IDF has incentive to say “everyone in that playground we hit with that airstrike was an Islamic Jihad Terrorist”.

Okay, I’m willing to believe that Israel had a contingency plan ready to exploit the political leeway created if they were hit by a terrible attack. Like “if they kill a bunch of Israelis, this is our shopping-list of objectives to gain ground and kill targets in a time when the world can’t criticize us”. I would believe there are people in the Israeli military who are amoral enough to do that.

However, believing they looked the other way when they knew about an impending attack strains credulity.

And if you’re believing they were active participants in orchestrating an attack on their own people? That means you need your tinfoil hat loosened.

The asymmetry of power is so severe that Israel could flatten every building in Gaza and butcher every person there in a single day if they really wanted to. Yes, Israel does horrible things to Palestinians, but if you’re going to start from “Israel wants to kill Palestinians”, you kinda have to explain why they don’t do it even more than they already do.

Actually that would be quite new, since most of their land-grabbing actions have been in the West Bank, both the rural settlement communities and urban areas around Jerusalem. The Gaza Strip borders have been consistent for a very long time.

But yes, their current approach of levelling buildings and commanding Palestinians to evacuate does lead me to think they might try that in Gaza.

It’s a war between genocidal terrorists and apartheid colonialist fascists, with a massive civilian body count on both sides. Can’t we all just be sad about dead kids instead of being cheerleading freaks?

Israel is genociding and colonising Palestine since about 80 years. Ukraine was genociding Donbass for 8 years.

Not only that, but Canada has proven its firm hand on this. When China went apeshit after Meng Wanzhou’s arrest in Canada to extradite her to the USA, Canada stuck to its guns. Even after two Canadians were taken hostage by the Chinese government in a retaliatory arrest, Meng stayed under arrest with her extradition going forward, while the rest of the world (including Modi’s India) politely looked the other way rather than angering China.

India cannot possibly claim they couldn’t have gotten results from Canada if they’d gone through the legal system.

Well, for one, I doubt Canada does it, and for another, the Americans at least have the self-respect to own what they’re doing when somebody calls them out on it instead of switching into crybully mode and throw a diplomatic temper tantrum like Modi is.

I don’t recall Obama ever pulling diplomats and visas from Pakistan when their government was angry about US airstrikes in their country.

“I didn’t do it and if I did it was justified” just looks childish.
