Western governments need to step up their subsidies for green tech then to compete, I guess. Not start banning the people who are providing the solution.

Yeah no such catastrophic celestial events are likely in the next few millennia, and we’re pretty good at predicting those things now. The impact of climate change is already affecting a billion or more people right now.
I’m fully aware that EVs won’t solve the climate crisis. And, of course leaders in the west, especially the US, pitch consumerism as the solution to climate change. Unfortunately for many people, myself included, we have no option but to to drive as public transit has been purposefully dismantled, and opting for EVs (when already buying a car) is one of the only real choices that has any noticeable climate impact.
Alternative plan: we all are stuck on this rock together and maybe we should prioritize maintaining its habitability over bickering about who is allowed to provide the solution.
Western governments: We need to take climate change seriously and transition to renewables and EVs.
Also western governments: It’s bad that China has ramped up production on renewable energy sources and EVs, hit them with tariffs to protect our insufficient domestic production.
Will the sun swallow the earth before the mantle cools down?
I use it to describe a variety of things, but usually it’s related to servers not being able to handle load rather than an outright crash, but I’m not strict about it. Laos balancer failures could be it, could also just be that something was really I efficient but wasn’t noticed until it went into production.
This is dumb but also it’s amusing
This is the most fear mongering nonsense I’ve read on Lemmy to date
What was the prompt?
This isn’t new, and he’s admitted it himself in the past
That’s some adorable little animal abuse right there
“From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” has never been a call for genocide. It is a call for the destruction of the Israeli state, but not the genocide of Jewish people in Palestine. It’s a call for a new state that grants freedom and equality to all, instead of an apartheid state that has been committing a slow but accelerating genocide against Palestinians.
Love it or hate it, the US is still the largest economy
The police view the dying side effect as a bonus, not a problem. Dead men tell no stories.
Glad to see Comac planes being used at production scale. Hopefully they are safe and push Boeing to do better, but based on recent US actions I bet they will ban Comac to prevent competition.
A united and reinvigorated PLO operating from both the West Bank and Gaza would be the most likely way to realize an independent Palestinian state. The real question though remains about what to do with the Israeli state and occupiers. Any Palestinian state will be under constant threat from both individual Israeli terrorists and terror organizations like the IDF, many of which have effectively settled in the West Bank. There would likely need to be some UN-backed peacekeeping operation to safeguard Palestine even with full recognition of independence.
Wouldn’t a refusal essentially constitute an invasion and act of war?
r/worldnews there absolutely does. Several years ago I said that Hamas has the support it does because of Israeli aggression and its active stance against them. My comment was deleted and I was banned for “terrorist apologia”. It’s not even allowed to try and understand the situation impartially.
This is how I would describe my experience. Sometimes it’s crunch time and most of the time it’s fuck around time. After crunch time I always throw a tantrum about how if we only bothered with planning we could largely avoid it.
