God willing!
This is a sick way of thinking, that we would have allies in spite of them committing genocide, but neither is it new territory for the US. That said, what is the ‘realpolitik’ reason that we “can’t afford to lose Israel as an ally”?
I understand your point of view, and it’s probably the better one. I am just very angry right now and ought to log off for awhile.
Am I in a position to target children with these weapons? Do I profit from commerce in these weapons? To I earn my daily bread manufacturing these weapons? The answer to all of those of course, is no. I sincerely hope that the answer is the same for yourself, but if it were not, then perhaps imagining (as we are doing here) your own family suffering such horrors would cause you to change your ways. Save your indignation for those who deserve it.
Eh, fuck em. It’s killing somebody’s families either way, might as well be theirs.
I wish that anyone who produces, sells, buys or utilizes white phosphorous weapons would have their families burned to death by it :)
It’s a trolley problem, except we are currently running over thousands of people, and we are still months away from the switch. There’s a guy in power right now, who could stop this, and he needs our votes to win the election. I want more pressure on him before the election, since all leverage is lost afterwards. You want to assure him of our votes, which means he has zero political reason to stop abetting genocide. Don’t you see how by saying “blue no matter who” you are stabbing everyone in the back who is trying to halt this genocide? We know Biden doesn’t mind murdering children, so our only hope is that he actually wants to win the election. In order to leverage that power though, he needs to realize that voters aren’t guaranteed to show up for him.
It is a sad day indeed when opposing an active genocide is characterized as “moral grandstanding”.
The “more genocide” party appreciates your uncritical vote.
Oh I’ll still be guilty of paying taxes, and of not doing more, but I won’t be guilty of voting for a genocidaire. Call it a boycott, call it conscientious objection, call it whatever you want, but I won’t sign my name to a genocide.
I refuse to participate in a system that forces me to choose between two genocides. There is no victory worth giving political backing to a genocide. A system so evil cannot be redeemed.
This isn’t a matter of disagreeing with this or that policy of a candidate. This is genocide. I don’t need to agree 100% with a candidate to vote for them, but I do have a limit and if anything exceeds it, it’s genocide.
I’ll never vote for any kind or amount of genocide. Clock’s ticking if Biden wants the anti-genocide vote.
Why shouldn’t I think this is what Joe Biden wants? What actions has he ever taken to show otherwise? It’s not complicated to me at all. Biden is actively supporting/arming/encouraging genocide. He is giving material aid and political cover at the UN. I could never ever sign my name in support of such a monster. He, more than any single other person in the world could stop this genocide right now. The fact that he won’t do so even though his inaction seriously jeopardizes his reelection is insane. Get ready for what comes next.
No blame for the party leadership that makes itself so unappealing to voters?
For sure! Do that shit yesterday, no matter who is president. If you’re really worried about shit like this post, I hope you’re learning to shoot, and maybe acquiring guns and ammo.
And what are we going to do about it? Besides vote, I mean. Like vote as hard as you want to, but if that isn’t enough, then what?
Don’t they know that not working for Biden is the same thing as working for Trump??
