    Israeli intelligence traced the origin of the document to a 2003 Al-Qaeda manual, the Israeli Foreign Ministry said in the cable.

    To be fair, that was the era of “Make a Bomb in the Kitchen of Your Mom”.

    No, I’m not making that up. That was an actual article in Al-Qaeda’s online magazine Inspire.

        The same reason anyone takes a USB stick anywhere: to inconspicuously drop in a conspicuous place in hopes that some rube will find it, put it in their PC, and get pwnd.
